Last Month’s Ministry Letter Recap: Pole Pole (Slowly Slowly)
About a month ago, I couldn’t believe that August was already over, and even now, I can’t believe that it’s already about to be October. Yet still, I am taking the wisdom from last month to heart. Slowly slowly I’m taking things one day at a time, and I’m very excited for what’s coming on the radar.
The Impact National Conference
If your best friend really wanted you to attend something, what would it take for you to accept the invitation and go?
This is what I think about when I think about the Impact National Conference, a biannual event rooted in the mission to inspire, equip and mobilize people of African descent to grow in their relationship with Christ and impact their communities. As a rallying point for college students, high school students, and young professionals committed to the mission of The Impact Movement, the conference serves to encourage, energize, and mobilize leaders who will infiltrate every professional genre as Kingdom citizens.
So, for some people after reading that, God might be pulling on your sleeve (like a friend) encouraging you and inviting you to attend; While for others, you might not feel this tug at all. However, if you do feel the tug I would encourage you to be prayerful about it.
There are several different tracks that cater towards graduates, high schoolers, pastors, and church leaders, and if you’re interested in volunteering you can do that too! So, if any of this interests you click here to learn more, or reach out to me and I’d be happy to answer any questions.
September 23rd, 2024 - Taking Inventory
Last week I was sitting in my room, minding my business when suddenly I felt convicted to take inventory of the amount of time I spent doing certain things (the certain thing in this instance was my YouTube usage). Nonetheless, I felt strange thinking about how significant YouTube was in my life as I essentially grew up alongside the platform (as did many other Gen Z’ers). Hence, last week, while trying to balance work and “breaks,” I felt strongly convicted to heavily reduce my time on YouTube, and little did I know work suddenly got a whole lot easier. I’ve been able to read more, write more, embrace stillness, and not only that, but also create.
Ironically, exactly 1 year ago I felt these same exact feelings and ended up buying an acoustic guitar. “Happy guitar birthday!” I remember hearing as I exited the shop; and now it being a year later, I naturally felt inclined to compile a bunch of footage and celebrate! Through that one little purchase God had moved me slightly in the direction towards more positive and better habits. AND instead of solely consuming YouTube content, he now was allowing me to produce content for me and for you. So, with that being said, I challenge you, what do you need to take inventory of, and what is God trying to revive in you?
Numbers Update
Once again, I am super super close to reaching full support! I have about $500 of monthly support left to raise, and I’m incredibly expectant and faithful that God will provide! I truly cannot do this alone, so thank you again for joining my team, and thank you for praying for me throughout this journey!
Support Tracker
Praise Report: I believe the last time I sent an update out my car was in the shop. Well, the day after I sent that email out I ended up getting my car back and it’s been running smooth ever since (so much so that I even was able to drive a UMass student to church yesterday!). So, thank y’all for praying because the Lord be answering!
My Prayer Requests
