I’m Going Into Ministry

“15 When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” 16 He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.” (John 21: 15-17).

Tending The Sheep

Well it’s pretty crazy to say it, but by God’s grace, I GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and English! And with college now in the books, I’ve repeatedly been asked this question… what’s next?

My answer: to pursue a career in which I can empower young Black students to realize their strength, who then empower others to realize theirs.

Hence, this is what’s next for me, empowering young Black students. Why? Because when I was a student there were many times when I didn’t feel empowered, and I now desire to meet that need.

Therefore, in hopes of achieving this goal, I have decided that for this next chapter of my life, I will be serving with The Impact Movement, which is a campus ministry organization that reaches Black college students to prepare them for a lifetime of influence. Through the Impact Movement I will be able to empower, support, and empower Black students to realize their strength and then empower others to do the same. Consequently, I’m excited, eager, energetic, and expecting God to do some great things in this next chapter (and of course, expect for me to be writing about it all (for updates you can sign up for my newsletter on the bottom of the page, or read updates by clicking here!).

So, with all of that being said, I’m incredibly excited for this upcoming season; yet not only that, I’m excited to invite others like you into it.

call to Partnership

As many of you may know, I cannot do this work alone. Rather, through reading my updates, supporting me through prayer or financial means, referring me to friends, and a whole bunch of other things, I have the privilege of building a network of people who can support and come alongside me as I engage in this work, as it would be impossible to do any of this by myself.

Hence, this summer I am in the process building a team of monthly prayer and financial partners so that I can get back to UMass in time and support the students as a Campus Coach for the Impact Movement. Currently I am 80% of the way towards my goal, and I would love for you to consider joining my amazing team of (now 56 different) prayer and financial partners!
